So it is spring, but someone needs to tell Kansas. It was spring for like 3 days. Now it is back to being winter and there is even snow forecast on Easter Sunday. I can’t. I love the seasons. In the winter, I want it to be cold and snowy and just as it should be. Now that it is spring, I’d like it to be on the warmer side, maybe not rain every other day, definitely not snow, and it would be nice to see the sun occasionally and perhaps some flowers. Apparently I’m being too picky. Anyway, regardless of the cooler weather, I was fortunate enough to work these two fun maternity sessions in on two of our warmer and somewhat sunnier days.
Maternity sessions are always so special. Love photographing mamas who are about to bring a new little one into the world. I always think they are some of the prettiest ladies I capture because they truly are just glowing. It is also extra fun when there is a big sibling involved. In one of these sessions, big sister was old enough to “get it” and was super excited about her little brother or sister. In another, big brother was much younger but I loved his energy and chasing after him during our time together.
Both of these sessions took place at one of my favorite location to shoot on post. The character of the stonework and wide open spaces are just perfect for family sessions and truly capture the uniqueness of this post. Many families are here so briefly, it is awesome when families want to schedule sessions on post because they will have these photographs to remember how beautiful Leavenworth is.
